Ancestral Pueblo: Greater Upper Rio Grande Valley | Southern Rio Grande | Middle Rio Grande | Middle Rio Grande Utility Ware |
First posted by C. Dean Wilson
Most of the gray utility ware vessels produced in the Middle Rio Grande region are similar to those noted in the Northern Rio Grande region although some of the forms produced during later periods appear to be fairly distinct. Only gray ware pottery types exhibiting traits easily distinguished from those noted for types described for other Rio Grande traditions are described here. While only a few descriptions of gray ware types are currently presented here, it is likely more descriptions will be posted as we better understand the nature of variation associated with gray ware pottery produced in this region.
